Exciting News For The 2018/19 Winter Season At Brimacombe!
In case you missed it – we shared on our social media channels, 3 BIG announcements for the 2018-19 season! Read below to find out more:
After years of building a strong foundation for snowmaking operations, which include investments in our on-hill snow-gun equipment and a major expansion to our snowmaking pond in 2012 – Brimacombe is excited to announce that this season, we will begin our multi-phase project into the world of automated snowmaking!
The project has already begun, with the equipment expected to be operational on Standard run for the beginning of the 2018-19 season and an expansion to the rest of our resort scheduled over the next few seasons.
So, why automation? Because we want to make sure our trails are blanketed top to bottom in the finest quality snow as early as possible, and let’s face it – sometimes we have to pick up where Mother Nature left off.
The landscape continues to change here on the slopes of Brimacombe and we are excited to open up new skiable terrain on the west side of our property under the West Chair for the 2018/19 season!
Skiers have been sliding these slopes for over 80 years and throughout this time we have continued to construct and deconstruct infrastructure and alter our ski and ride-able terrain. While most of these changes are made to improve member and guest experience, some are made out of necessity.
This summer, the decision has been made to remove T-bar #7 (installed in 1982) located beside West Chair. This follows the removal of our our two oldest T-bar lifts (T-bar #3 and #4) back in 2015. As the manufacturer has long since disappeared from the market, we will be salvaging all useable parts to continue to maintain our existing two T-bar lifts until they too reach the point that decommission is necessary.
Though we are sad to see this part of our property’s history gone, we are excited to be opening this area up as new and challenging run! With access from the top of the West Chair, this new section of terrain will equate to approximately two additional acres of skiable terrain and create yet another unique and fun area to ski and ride. Stay tuned for an official run name release coming soon!
This season, we will be opening on Mondays from 9:00 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. which means we’ll now be open 7 days and 6 nights a week from January to March Break (weather and snow conditions permitting, of course!)
Each year, we continually assess the factors involved with adding an additional operational day to our schedule to ensure financial viability and stability. After approximately 10 years of being closed on Mondays, we are excited about the potential growth that we see Mondays bringing to our operations. This season will act as a trial season and if successful, we will continue with this new operational schedule into future seasons.
Opening Mondays will add an additional 8 days to our operational schedule which means you’ll have more days/nights to use your Membership and Every Night Seasons Pass! A Single Night Monday Seasons Pass will also be available for purchase.
Don’t forget – Memberships, Season Passes and Lessons on sale starting mid-August!
Don’t miss out on the best prices of the season, Super Early Bird rates end September 16, 2018.
