When Matt Morison first buckled his feet into the bindings of a snowboard, he was only seven years old. However, by the age of 11, he was already winning races against senior men. It quickly became clear that Morison had the makings of a true and talented athlete.
After being coached at his home club for a number of years, Morison left the slopes at Brimacombe to ride the powder out west, where he joined the Alberta race team.
Since then, this snowboarding sensation has achieved success worldwide. His accomplishments include 34 world cup starts, 10 trips to the podium, three World Cup victories and a Junior World Cup title, all before the age of 22!
From his first World Cup podium in 2007, to being named sixth overall in the World Cup standings in 2008, Morison has always shown incredible drive and determination. In 2009, his hard work paid off - he qualified for the 2010 Winter Games in Vancouver!
Please join us Saturday, February 27 as we show our support for one of Brimacombe's Best - Matt Morison - as he makes his Olympic debut. If you can whoop, holler and/or cheer, you're invited to join us at Brimacombe for a party of Olympic proportions!
